SCRAPS. (_For the Mirror_.) DODSLEY. About five or six miles from Mansfield is the mill where the incident took place on which Dodsley founded his pleasing drama of _The Miller of Mansfield_. * * * * * Bottles for ginger-beer, soda-water, ink, blacking, &c. are principally manufactured near Codnor Castle, in Derbyshire. About fifty women and children finish one hundred gross per day. * * * * * Glauber Salts are a more tonic aperient than Epsom Salts, which is accounted for by the presence of a little iron, in the one, which has not been detected in the other. * * * * * |
