50. MITTEN. _Materials--Raworth's crochet-thread Nos_. 120 _and_ 90, _or black crape silk_. The receipt for the back of mitten is here given, the underpart and the thumb being simply French ground-work, finished at the top and bottom like the back, leaving an opening at the side for the thumb. Make a chain long enough to go round the wrist in thread No. 90, and work one plain row.
