_This Atlas includes all the countries of Europe in a series of 48 Maps,
drawn on the same scale, with an Alphabetical Index to the situation of more than ten thousand places, and the relation of the various maps and countries to each other is defined in a general Key-map. All the maps being on a uniform scale facilitates the comparison of extent and distance, and conveys a just impression of the relative magnitude of different countries. The size suffices to show the provincial divisions, the railways and main roads, the principal rivers and mountain ranges. "This atlas," writes the_ British Quarterly_, "will be an invaluable boon for the school, the desk, or the traveller's portmanteau."_ Guizot--(Author of "_John Halifax, Gentleman_.") ------------------------------------------------ --M.
