She was wide awake now. "How did you find me?" "I met one of the fishermen. He had seen you row into the cave." "Oh!" She looked at him more steadily. His brown face was hot. Perspiration stood on his forehead just under the thick and waving hair. "Where have you been, Gaspare? Not to Naples in all this heat?" "I have been to Mergellina, Signorina." "Mergellina!
