"Did you ever hear of a gunman named Lassiter?" queried Shefford, with
increasing emotion. "No." "Did you ever hear of a Mormon woman named--Jane Withersteen?" "No." Shefford drew his breath sharply. He had followed a gleam--he had caught a fleeting glimpse of it.
