Was entertained at dinner by the Municipio of Varallo-Sesia on the Sacro Monte. 1888. Took up photography. 1888. In this and the two following years contributed some articles to the Universal Review, most of which were republished after his death as Essays on Life, Art, and Science (1904). 1890. Began to study counterpoint with William Smith Rockstro and continued to do so until Rockstro's death in 1895. 1892. The Humour of Homer.
