It is read in the _Newspaper Directory_ that _The Morning Chronicle_ was established in 1770, _The Morning Herald_ in 1781, _The Times_, 1st January, 1788. I believe that not one of these dates is correct, and that of _The Morning Herald_ to be wrong by fifteen years or more.
